Browsing through Google Chrome will be safer: this way it will warn you of dangerous websites

There is no doubt that cybercrime is constantly evolving and the ways of attacking users who browse the Internet are increasingly sophisticated. Our only weapon is to be cautious and enter trusted web portals so that we do not have any mishaps when it comes to transferring data when we make online purchases or enter our credentials in applications that require it. To do this, Google Chrome has implemented new mechanics to avoid cyber attacks.

Google Chrome has the greatest media reach in the world, with enormous user numbers that exceed 60%. For this reason, the browser par excellence must receive frequent security updates to maintain its reputation and safeguard the personal information of all Internet users who browse its cyberspace every day.

So Google has filed a new patent with the aim of effectively combating those who intend to get a good loot by usurping all your bank details and passwords. The navigation platform will therefore offer a renewed system to intercept cybercriminals in real time. Is that how it works.

Chrome redesigns real-time protection

Those at Mountain View are aware that the cybercrime landscape continues to be a great burden for all its users and, although it cannot be completely eradicated, there are some measures to avoid it. How are you going to achieve it? Redesigning a privacy tool called Google Safe Browsing.

Thanks to this new implementation, Safe Browsing aims to protect more than five billion devices daily, displaying warnings and alerts in real time when entering sites that the browser may consider dangerous. But not only that, users who have a web domain (webmasters) are also notified of possible malicious agents that are trying to access, identifying them and helping them solve the problem.

Consequently, Google also emphasizes that Safe Browsing is already used to scan more than ten billion URLs and files every day, resulting in up to 3 million cyber threats.

How will Google improve protection against cyber threats?

The standard protection mode was previously used in a list stored on our devices that is updated between 30 and 60 minutes. However, it was not possible to fight in that period of time, since this type of individuals act in less than 10 minutes. From now on, everything will be checked in real time, using the Google server to immediately alert you of unauthorized access.

This new revision of Safe Browsing Protection is expected to block up to 25% more phishing threats. While this new improved level of defense is being developed, the company recommends activating the enhanced Safe Browsing protection mode from your Google account in the Security and Manage Enhanced Safe Browsing section, with the aim of obtaining faster and more effective protection. proactive.

Likewise, this new improvement will arrive first to the desktop version of Google Chrome and iOS in the coming days, but at the end of March it will also land on Android phones.
