BBVA opens new free courses to train in cybersecurity

BBVA makes free courses available to citizens to improve essential cybersecurity skills.

Cybersecurity has become a fundamental element in the middle of 2022, not only for the workplace, but also for the personal environment. For this reason, BBVA offers the possibility of participating in free courses to improve skills related to cybersecurity.

In recent years, cybercriminals have incorporated new fraud methods and numerous attacks on electronic devices through viruses or malware. For all these reasons, it is increasingly necessary to have basic notions about cybersecurity .

For example, in banking entities such as BBVA, cybersecurity is considered a strategic priority, as well as one of the main elements of digital transformation.

In this regard, the person in charge of Training at BBVA, Alberto González. explains that “through our training model, Campus BBVA , we design learning solutions that respond to the present and future needs of our professionals. In the last year we have carried out an in-depth 'reskilling' and 'upskilling' exercise to prepare our employees in the capacities that were going to mark the bank's strategy in the coming years».

Free BBVA courses in cybersecurity

In recent months, BBVA has trained approximately 60,000 employees around the world in cybersecurity skills. The banking entity has made a strong commitment to improving in the field of security, being a basic pillar.

 

 

 

In this regard, González adds that “we have some of the best cybersecurity experts and a large part of the workforce has already acquired basic knowledge in this area. Now we want to go further and take advantage of all our experience to bring it closer to a wider audience.”

In addition to training its workers in cybersecurity, BBVA also seeks to train citizens and people interested in cybersecurity. To do this, it has enabled a series of training itineraries through the international platform Coursera.

It is an open and free release for anyone. With this training, from BBVA they explain that "we offer specific and pioneering cybersecurity content available to everyone, one of the fundamental pillars of our organization is to share knowledge to learn together and thus be able to create opportunities for all".

Increase cybersecurity knowledge

Specifically, we are talking about BBVA's first training course on cybersecurity in Spanish. In addition, in the coming days, the bank hopes to expand its offer with essential content focused on cybersecurity.

Some of the topics to be covered are the defense of the personal sphere, how to react to a crisis, basic notions in security operations, fight against possible fraud, data security and information security.

Finally, Alberto González argues that "training employees and society as a whole is a great lever for attracting talent, and we want to give visibility and publicity to all the opportunities that the bank offers".
